B2B startup Fundly.ai just raised four million dollars in a round led by Accel. And that happened today, September 11th. Yesterday, we talked about big AI breakthroughs, but today’s news shows where the real money is going: not just building AI, but getting it into the hands of businesses that can use it right now. Here’s what else is moving. Pocket FM’s parent company, Pocket Entertainment, just blew past half a billion dollars in annual recurring revenue. The driver? A huge push into AI-generated content and aggressive global expansion. This isn't just about audiobooks anymore; it's about becoming a content factory. We're also seeing more big checks being written. Nua, the women's wellness company, just closed a fifty-million-dollar round led by Peak XV Partners.
That’s two major VCs, Accel and Peak XV, making big, separate bets on the same day. Speaking of which, a new report just confirmed those two firms are now tied at the top of India's "Cheetah" investor list, for backing the most high-growth startups. So, no surprise they're leading these rounds. On the consumer side, Apple just launched the new iPhone Duo, along with the 18 Pro and Pro Max in India. They’ll be available in stores starting September 18th. But I want to go back to the two stories that really define the shift happening right now. One is about making money with AI, and the other is about running your entire company on it. First, Pocket FM. Hitting five hundred million dollars in annual recurring revenue is a massive milestone. But here's the part that you need to understand.
This isn't just about getting more subscribers. Their growth is being supercharged by using AI to generate new audio content. Think about that. They're not just a platform for human creators anymore. They are becoming a publisher that can create its OWN content at a scale and speed that humans simply can't match. This is a fundamental change in the media business model. They're expanding internationally, sure, but the engine underneath is this AI-powered content machine. It lets them test new genres, new languages, and new stories with very little upfront cost. It’s the difference between building a movie studio and building a machine that BUILDS movie studios. Okay, so that's AI as a product. The second story is about AI as a utility—as fundamental as electricity.
Mahindra Finance, in its partnership with the AI company Sarvam, just announced their voice AI agents have now handled over one crore calls. That's ten MILLION calls. This isn't a pilot program. This isn't an experiment. This is core business operations, at scale, being run by AI. And here's the real kicker: they did it across twelve different Indian languages. This is NOT some Silicon Valley tech that only works well in English. This is a system built for the linguistic reality of India. It signals that the underlying technology for Indic languages is finally mature enough for massive, commercial deployment. It's one thing for an AI to write a story. It's another thing entirely for it to handle a sensitive financial call with a customer in Marathi or Telugu.
That requires a whole different level of trust and reliability. And this all connects to a trend we're seeing in the job market. Suddenly, the hottest new role at major companies is the "AI Adoption Manager." Why? Because companies have spent millions deploying AI and now the board is asking, "what's our return on this investment?" It's not enough to just HAVE the tech anymore. You need someone whose entire job is to make sure it's being used effectively and actually making the business better. For the last couple of years, the big question in Indian tech was "Can we build with AI?" That question is over. The new question—the one getting funded with millions from Accel and the one scaling to crores of users with Mahindra—is "What business can we build on top of AI?" And that changes the entire game.
