The short answer

How to set it up

  1. Filter for decision relevance, not novelty

    This field publishes more than anyone can read and most of it changes nothing. The instruction that makes the difference is ‘lead with anything that would change a build or buy decision this week; mention the rest in one sentence or not at all’. Without it you get a list of announcements.

  2. Name the layer you work at

    Serving infrastructure, evaluation, applied product engineering and research are four different briefings that share a vocabulary. Saying which one you are in is what stops the show covering all four badly.

  3. Ask for the disagreement

    ‘Where do credible people disagree about this result’ produces a better episode than a summary, because the disagreement is where the information is. It is also the instruction that keeps a generated show from sounding like a press release.

How current is it?
As current as what is publicly published by the time the run starts. Same-day announcements land the following morning rather than immediately.
Can I stop it covering a subject I am tired of?
Say so in the show description — exclusions are part of the instruction, and ‘skip funding rounds entirely’ works as well as any inclusion does.

What this does not do

It cannot read paywalled research or private Slack, and it will occasionally state something with more confidence than the underlying source does. Treat any specific benchmark number as something to check before repeating.
