Today, one hundred thirty-eight thousand, five hundred and sixty CCTV cameras watched over the NEET-UG exam. In our last briefing, we touched on the build-up around this re-examination. Now we know the full scale of the security operation designed to restore trust. That wasn't the only major move. Reliance Jio Platforms just filed regulatory papers for a three-point-eight billion dollar IPO in Mumbai. If it goes through, it could become the largest public offering in India’s history. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi released the latest instalment of the PM-Kisan scheme. That's eighteen thousand, eight hundred and eighty crore rupees, going out to more than nine-point-four crore farmers across the country.

The Prime Minister was in Kolkata, where he also led the twelfth International Yoga Day celebrations and commissioned three new indigenously built naval ships. There was a significant milestone in Uttar Pradesh. The state just completed the first phase of Census 2027, a critical step for the entire country's demographic data collection. In sports, Neeraj Chopra was officially named Best Male Athlete of the Year 2025 at the inaugural Indian Athletics Awards in New Delhi. The Lifetime Achievement Award went to IOA chief and legendary sprinter PT Usha. On the energy front, Indian Oil Corporation issued new tenders to charter vessels.

It's looking to lift LPG and oil from Gulf ports between June thirtieth and July fourth, securing supply lines. And a quick check on markets shows copper prices on the MCX just hit another record high. They've now surged past thirteen thousand dollars per tonne, driven by both investor and industrial demand. Let’s go back to that exam. The National Testing Agency wasn't just using cameras for today's NEET-UG re-test. They deployed fifty-one thousand, three hundred and eleven electronic jammers across ninety-five thousand exam rooms. The goal was simple: prevent any and all electronic malpractice.

The video feeds from all those cameras were monitored live at national, state, and ministry levels. This wasn't just security. This was a statement. After weeks of controversy over leaks and fraud, the NTA had to prove it could run a clean exam. This is the context for the Delhi High Court's decision earlier this week. The court upheld the government's temporary ban on the messaging app Telegram, which runs until June twenty-second. The government argued that extraordinary measures were necessary to stop the spread of fake exam papers and organized fraud. Looking at the scale of today's security, it's clear the government got the measures it wanted.

Now, let's turn to that other number: three-point-eight billion dollars. That's the target for the Reliance Jio Platforms IPO. This isn't just about the size, which is historic. It’s about who is already inside the company. Jio’s major foreign investors include Meta and Google. They bought in years ago. This IPO is about unlocking the value they helped create, and putting a firm number on what the world's second-largest mobile network by single-country subscribers is actually worth. It’s a move that shifts Jio from a subsidiary of Reliance Industries into a standalone giant on the public markets, inviting global capital to participate directly in India's digital growth story.

So today you have two massive, parallel efforts. One is a physical, brute-force operation to secure the integrity of an examination system that affects millions of families. It's about managing a legacy system under immense pressure. The other is a sophisticated financial move to capitalize on a digital network that has already changed the country. One system is deploying jammers to block signals. The other is building a future on them. That is the tension at the heart of India's growth story today.
