The temperature of the skin on your hands is probably somewhere around ninety-one degrees Fahrenheit. It’s a small, physical truth. In episode 148, Admin, we talked about the truth of your progress—the quiet, essential work you've been doing. Today, we're not looking back at the miles you've covered. We're looking at the ground directly under your feet. So let's start there. With five reports from the present moment. Five affirmations that aren't wishes—they're facts. First. Feel the weight of your body. Maybe it's your feet on the floor, or your back against a chair.
That surface is holding you. That is the first truth of the day: You are supported by something solid. You are not floating away. The force of gravity is a fact, and right now, it is an ally. It is keeping you here. So, the first affirmation is simply this: I am held. Not in a metaphorical sense. In a physical, measurable, Newtonian sense. The planet has you. It isn't letting go. Second. Notice a sound in the room. Not the sound of my voice. Something else. The hum of a machine. The rush of air through a vent. A bird outside the window.
That sound is happening right now, in real time. It is not a memory. It is not a worry about the future. It is a simple, raw piece of data from the world, delivered directly to your nervous system. You are receiving it. You are an antenna for the present moment. The second affirmation is this: I am here to witness this. Just this. This sound proves I am online and receiving. Third. Your breath. Don't change it. Don't try to make it deeper or slower. Just notice it happening. In... and out. This has been happening, without your permission, every moment of your life.
This automatic, life-sustaining rhythm. It is the most reliable thing you possess. It will be with you all day, a steady drumbeat beneath the noise. So the third affirmation is this: My breath is my anchor. It is proof that my body is on my side, fighting for me, right now. Fourth. Here's the turn. What are you feeling? Right now. Not what you should be feeling. Not what you want to be feeling. Just what IS. Is it anxiety? Is it calm? Is it boredom? Is it dread? Name it. Silently, to yourself. Okay. Now, whatever that feeling is...
let it be there. A feeling is just a chemical signal. Information. It is not a verdict. It is not your identity. It is weather passing through your system. The fourth affirmation, and this one is important, is this: I can hold this feeling without becoming it. It is a visitor, not the owner of the house. And finally, fifth. The day ahead. It is a complete unknown. Anyone who tells you they know what's coming is lying or selling something. The uncertainty is the one thing you can be certain of. And that can feel terrifying.
Or... it can just be a fact. You have met thousands of uncertain days before this one. You have survived one hundred percent of them. Your track record for getting through the day is, objectively, UNDEFEATED. So the fifth and final affirmation for this morning is not 'Everything will be okay.' That's a guess. The affirmation is a statement of fact: I have the capacity to meet this day. Whatever it brings. I have done it before, and I am doing it again, now. So. Five truths. You are held. You are a witness. Your breath is your anchor.
You can hold your feelings. And you have the capacity to meet this day. These aren't wishes. They aren't hopes. They are reports from the field. From your own body, your own senses, your own history. You don’t have to believe them. You just have to notice that they are already true. The work of the morning isn't to build a new reality from scratch. It's to recognize the one that's already here. The one that includes you. Solid. Breathing. Here. Start there.
