There is no map for where you are going, because you are drawing it as you go. In our last episode, we talked about the thirty-five thousand choices you make in a day. Today, we are not thinking about the number of choices, but about the person who has to make them. You. This morning is for acknowledging the journey—the progress you’ve already made, the ground you’ve already covered.
This is for the you that is in motion. So let’s start right there. With a deep breath. And let’s begin by looking back, just for a moment. Not with judgment. With gratitude. The person you were a year ago, five years ago… they did the best they could with what they knew. They made choices that led you here. Some were brilliant. Some were painful. All of them were necessary.
That person deserves your respect. They kept going. They got you to this morning. So let your first act of the day be one of peace with your own past. Repeat this, and feel the truth of it in your body: I am grateful for every version of me that led to who I am today. I release the need to punish myself for what I didn't know then. My past is not a weapon to be used against me.
It is the foundation I am standing on right now. Okay. Now, let’s come to the present. To the here and now. This moment. This is the messy middle. The part that doesn’t always feel like progress. It feels like work. It’s the day-in, day-out effort of showing up. It’s so easy to look at someone else’s highlight reel and compare it to your behind-the-scenes footage. We’re not doing that today.
Today, you honor the process. Your process. The courage it takes to be unfinished. To be a masterpiece and a work in progress at the exact same time. Say this with me. Let it land. My worth is not waiting at a finish line. I am worthy right now, in the middle of the work. Today, I will focus on the next right step, not the entire staircase. My energy is a precious resource, and I choose to spend it on progress, not on the illusion of perfection.
I am allowed to be learning. I am allowed to be evolving. And finally. Let’s turn toward what’s next. Not with fear. Not with a need to control every outcome. But with trust. You have a track record. You’ve faced uncertainty before and you found your way through. You’ve been confused before and you found clarity. You’ve been knocked down and you got back up. The person you are becoming is capable.
You don’t need to have all the answers for them. You just need to trust that they will be able to find them when the time comes. This is not blind faith. It is earned confidence. Breathe this in. This is your strength. I trust the person I am becoming. I have handled difficult things before, and I will handle them again. The uncertainty I feel is not a sign that I am lost.
It is a sign that I am growing. I am building a future I can’t yet see, and I have everything I need for the work of today. So here you are. At the beginning of this day. You are not the same person who went to sleep last night. Something in you has shifted. Something has been learned. Something has been let go. That is the nature of growth. It is quiet. It is constant. And it is happening inside you right now.
The goal isn’t to have a perfect day. The goal is to have a real one. To be present for your own life. You are not starting over. You are starting from experience.
