You have a one hundred percent success rate at surviving your worst days. Every single time you were convinced it was over, that you couldn't handle it… you were wrong. You're still here. That's not an opinion. That is data. And it's the only piece of data that matters this morning. What felt like a finish line was just a bend in the road. You proved it then. You just have to remember it now. You're looking at what's in front of you today and you feel that old, familiar gap. The gap between who you are, and who you think you need to be to handle this.

Good. Let's talk about that gap. You've stood at the edge of it before. You remember. That time you had to stand up and speak. That time you had to deliver the bad news. That time you had to choose the path that was right, not easy. You felt this exact same way. Out of your depth. A total imposter. And then what happened? You took a breath… and you took a step. You did the thing. It wasn't perfect. It wasn't pretty. But you did it. That competence isn't gone. It's in your bones. You just forget it's there until you need it. Today, you need it.

So call on it. It will answer. It always does. Now, about that feeling in your chest. The tightness. The voice that's whispering every worst-case scenario it can possibly invent. For years, you've treated that feeling like a stop sign. An alarm bell telling you to retreat to safety. Today is different. Today, you will see it for what it is. It's a compass. That feeling doesn't point to danger. It points to what you care about. It's a signal that you are standing on ground that matters. The opposite of that feeling isn't courage. It's boredom.

It's indifference. You don't feel this way about things that don't count. So feel it. Let it be there. It's just proof that you're alive, and you're in exactly the right place. That knot in your stomach isn't a warning. It's energy you haven't used yet. And you do not have to be the person who has it all figured out. In fact, you can't be. That person doesn't exist. The person who is calm and collected and knows all the answers… they are a character in a movie. They are not you. And thank God for that. Your only job today is to be the person who shows up.

The person who is willing to be a little clumsy. A little awkward. The person who is willing to say "I don't know, but I'll find out." Your goal is not a perfect performance. Your goal is to be present for the process. That's it. That's the whole job. Just show up. The rest will follow. You don't need to feel ready. You just need to be willing. This isn't about winning. Or losing. Or getting it right on the first try. It's about what this moment asks of you. And what you will become by answering. Years from now, you won't remember the specifics of today's anxiety.

You won't remember the fear. You will remember that there was a day you were scared, and you did it anyway. You will remember that you showed up for your own life. That's the story that starts now. The difficult thing isn't in your way. It is your way. Go on. Take the first step.
