wherever you are right now let your breath slow just a little last time we were together we spoke of breathing softness into the start of a new day tonight let's find that same softness for the day that is now done allowing the weight of your body to be held feeling the support of the surface beneath you nothing to do nowhere to be now bringing your awareness to your breath noticing the gentle rise and fall of your chest or your belly
feeling the air as it enters cool and fresh and feeling it as it leaves warm and soft no need to change anything simply observing this quiet rhythm with each breath in a sense of quiet arrival in this moment and with each breath out a letting go a quiet invitation to release the day releasing the lists the conversations the things that were done and all the things that remain unfinished
each exhale a small permission to set it all down just for now but now allowing that sense of release to travel through the body bring your attention to your hands perhaps they've been busy today typing holding fixing now simply let them be still feeling the fingers soften let this softness travel up into your arms and into your shoulders
letting go of any weight you might be carrying there noticing your jaw allowing it to unclench letting the tongue rest gently in the mouth feeling the small muscles around your eyes soften the space between your eyebrows smoothing out every part of you invited to rest invited to be just as it is and as the body softens we arrive here in the quiet space beneath the thinking mind
in this stillness there is no list of things to do there is no measure of what was accomplished or what was left undone here you are not defined by your performance your worth is not a thing to be earned you can simply be imperfect unfinished and yet precious allowing yourself to consent to this moment consent to be here just as you are without needing to be perfect without needing to be complete
there is a deep peace in this acceptance when you feel ready you can let your awareness gently expand feeling the air on your skin again noticing any distant sounds there is no rush as you carry this quiet with you perhaps hold on to this one thought a thought to rest with as you drift off or to carry into tomorrow there is quiet power in embracing what is rather than what should be
