Of power, rain, and bread, and truth And the angry, hopeful cries of youth Just another turn of the human wheel Making the ancient feel so real The wire hummed a different tune Beneath a pale and worried moon Of skies that turned a jealous green O'er Texas plains, a violent scene In Oklahoma, sirens wept For homes and lives the whirlwind swept A twister's path, a funnel's rage Nature turning its own dark page
