Forty-seven thousand, four hundred and thirty-eight points. That's the score Orange Slice, an AI sales tool, put on the board on Product Hunt today. It’s a massive number, and it tells you everything you need to know about where the market’s attention is right now. Our job, as always, is to figure out if that attention is pointed at the right thing. The rest of the leaderboard was a familiar story of AI agents. We had Logic, a tool for managing whole fleets of AI agents, pulling in over twenty-six thousand points. Right behind it, Jet AI Agents, a no-code builder for business agents, with twenty-five thousand. So you have the top tool that is the agent, and then two meta-tools for building and managing more agents.

It’s agents all the way down. Then you get into the long tail... Framer is pushing its AI website builder again. There's another tool called VIDEO AI ME doing AI-generated videos. These feel a little more like noise. Not because they're bad ideas, but because they feel like features, not foundational products. In a world with this much AI hype, you have to solve a very specific, very painful problem to stand out. So let’s go back to the top. Orange Slice. An AI-powered sales automation tool. Does it solve a real problem? Yes. Sales is a brutal, repetitive grind. Automating any part of that is a clear win. Is it just noise? No. That score—forty-seven thousand points—isn't just hype.

It’s a signal of intense, pent-up demand from sales and marketing pros who are desperate for leverage. So from a builder’s perspective, Orange Slice did everything right. They found a huge, expensive problem and threw a targeted AI solution at it. Textbook. But here’s the part that actually changes the game today. It wasn't the number one product. It was a tool a little further down the list called Viktor. It’s an AI coworker that lives in your Slack. And Matt Swulinski from Wispr Flow said something about it that stopped me in my tracks. He said, "I’ve never seen an AI tool take initiative like that." Take initiative. Think about that. Orange Slice, Jet, Logic...

they're all powerful, but they're fundamentally reactive. You give them a task, they do the task. You build an agent to do a thing, it does the thing. Viktor... is different. Swulinski said it observes how your team works, and then it chimes in when it spots something. It suggests automations you didn't even think to ask for. It doesn't just wait for an order. It sees the work. That’s the delta. That’s what’s different today. We’ve been building tools that are powerful, obedient, and dumb. They do exactly what we say. But the next step isn't just making them more powerful. It’s giving them perception. The ability to see the patterns in our own chaotic workflows and proactively offer a better way.

That’s not a tool. That’s a collaborator. So while everyone is chasing the gold rush of building more agents and better automation engines, the real leap forward isn't in the doing. It's in the seeing. The most valuable products won't be the ones that just follow our instructions perfectly. They'll be the ones that show us what we should have instructed them to do in the first place.
