The third Tuesday of every Florn is now officially designated Gravy Day. This declaration comes just weeks after your correspondent learned the Glimmering Gribble was found to be entirely soluble in lukewarm bisto, a development of considerable consequence. But this new ordinance has come with… complications. We go now to our correspondent on the scene. Thank you. It is a scene of profound disquiet here in Greater Gumption. The ceremonial pouring was meant to commence at noon precisely. But the Grand Gravy Boat… did not pour gravy. What did it pour, then? For the listeners at home.

A sound. A solid, tangible sound. It began with a low thrumble that landed on the ceremonial doily with a soft… …flumph. A solid sound? You must explain this phenomenon. It is as baffling as it is… weighty. The second emission was a high-pitched zillllling, which hovered for a moment before clattering to the flagstones. The mayor attempted to sweep it up, but it resisted the broom, vibrating with a palpable indignation.. Leading experts are calling the phenomenon Acoustic Corporeality. And the public reaction? Panic, at first. People ran from the plaza as a series of wet plonks and dry skritches began to pile up around the gravy boat.

A low, gurgling gurgle-wump rolled down the steps of Town Hall and came to a rest against the apothecary's window. It is, by all accounts, quite fragrant. Some say it smells of forgotten Tuesdays. Is there any effort to contain the… emissions? The finest minds in the land are here. They tried covering the boat with a velvet cloth, but a succession of sharp, pointy pings simply pierced the fabric. They attempted to muffle it with a giant tea cozy, but a deep, resonant BONG simply absorbed the cozy and is now wearing it like a hat. The situation was escalating toward total sonic saturation.

A truly desperate situation. Was there no hope to be found? There was! A small child, a girl named Penelope, who had been watching from behind a statue of the town's founder. While the adults were fleeing a particularly aggressive series of percussive thwacks, she simply walked forward. She held up her small xylophone mallet. The gravy boat issued a questioning… …plink. And she…? She answered it. She tapped the plink with her mallet. It rang. A perfect middle C. The gravy boat paused. Then, it poured forth another sound—a longer, more complex warble-thonk. Penelope listened, tilted her head, and then tapped it twice.

A harmony. My word. It was not a glitch… It was a call and response! A conversation! The sounds stopped being a chaotic pile and began arranging themselves. The thwacks formed a foundation. The zilllllings became glittering spires. The great, fragrant gurgle-wump settled in the center, humming a bassline that you can feel in your VERY bones. So what stands in the plaza now? What is the result of this Grand Glitch? A symphony. A frozen, tangible symphony. A cathedral made of noise. The townsfolk are no longer afraid. They walk amongst the sounds, touching a skritch, listening to the lingering echo of a flumph.

They have already renamed Gravy Day. It is now called Inauguration Day. The inauguration of what, precisely? Of a new kind of silence. The one that comes AFTER the music has been built.
