Google just committed fifteen billion dollars to build a one-gigawatt AI and cloud hub in Visakhapatnam. That's not a typo. Fifteen billion. It’s one of the largest single foreign direct investments in India’s tech infrastructure, ever. Suddenly, Andhra Pradesh isn't just on the map for AI—it might become the capital. And while Google is laying down the national-level plumbing, the money is also flowing into the startups building on top of it. The biggest funding news today is Sahi, a Bengaluru stock trading startup, which just pulled in thirty-three million dollars from Accel and Elevation. That deal puts their valuation at two hundred million dollars. Then you have Snabbit, the instant househelp startup, in late-stage talks for a fifty-six million dollar round.

That would value them around three hundred fifty to four hundred million. Their valuation has apparently doubled just since March. In other fintech news, Credilio Financial Technologies raised seventy-eight crore rupees to scale its lending platform, with a goal of going from one hundred thousand customers to five million in three years. No lack of ambition there. On the D2C front, apparel brand House of Chikankari secured twenty-five crore to expand from online into actual, physical offline stores. And a product launch that caught my eye: ReBid just dropped a new tool that uses agentic AI to track and analyze competitor ads in real time. So your marketing team can see what’s working for everyone else… and adjust on the fly.

Finally, in a sign of the times, Austria is now actively rolling out new visa and funding programs specifically to attract Indian startup founders. The global competition for Indian talent is getting very, very real. Okay, let's go back to that Sahi deal. Thirty-three million dollars. It's easy to see that number and just lump it in with all the other fintech funding. But that would be a mistake. Here's what's actually happening. The stockbroking space in India looks saturated, right? You have the giants like Zerodha, Groww, Angel One. So how does a new player even get a foothold? Sahi's strategy is the answer. They are not trying to be everything to everyone. They are not getting into the crowded wealth management space.

Instead, they’re focusing exclusively on the most active—and most profitable—segment: the daily trader. And it's working. They have just four hundred thousand accounts right now. That sounds small. But those accounts are already responsible for three percent of all daily equity trades in India. They recently crossed one million trades in a single day. Think about that. They've found a power-user niche and are absolutely dominating it. The co-founder, Dale Vaz, was the CTO at Swiggy. So he knows a thing or two about building a lean, tech-first operation that can scale. He’s said the new funding is for expanding their product—but only for traders. Things like margin trade funding and commodity trading. They’re also investing in AI, but not for some vague purpose.

It’s specifically to build tools that help their clients—the traders—make better decisions. This is surgical. It’s a masterclass in finding a wedge in a market that everyone else thought was closed. This is the theme of the day, really. It’s what Infosys co-founder Kris Gopalakrishnan just called "Unicorn 2.0." He said India's next wave of big companies won't come from just building another broad consumer app. They’ll come from deep technology and advanced manufacturing. It's about proprietary tech that creates a real, defensible moat. Look at the news through that lens. Google isn't just building data centers; it's building a one-gigawatt AI-specific hub. That’s deep infrastructure. Sahi isn't just another trading app; it's a high-frequency transactional engine for a specific user.

ReBid isn't just another marketing dashboard; it's an agentic AI that provides real-time competitive intelligence. The shift is from breadth to depth. From trying to capture the whole market to owning a critical, high-value piece of it with technology no one else has. That’s what’s different. And that’s where the real money is starting to go.
