Your body takes about twenty-two thousand breaths every single day. Last time, we focused on the gentle act of letting go. Tonight, we’ll invite that same quiet release into the body itself, one breath at a time. So find a position that feels comfortable for you, Admin.
Lying down, if that feels right. Allowing your eyes to gently close. There is nothing you need to do. Nowhere you need to be. Simply arrive right here. Begin by noticing your breath. Not changing it. Just feeling the gentle rise and fall of your chest or belly. Each breath in… a new moment.
Each breath out… a soft release. Now, bring your awareness to the very top of your head. Just noticing the sensation of your scalp. As you exhale, imagine any tension from the day just… melting away from this space. Allow that softness to travel down into your forehead.
Smoothing out any lines of effort. Let your eyes feel heavy in their sockets. Releasing the muscles all around them. And now your jaw. Allowing the teeth to part slightly. Letting the tongue rest. This gentle awareness flows down into your neck and your shoulders. A place that so often carries the weight of the day.
On your next exhale, simply allow your shoulders to feel a little heavier… a little softer. Letting them drop away from your ears. Now, feel that sense of release travel down both of your arms. Through your upper arms… past your elbows… and into your forearms. All the way down into your hands.
Noticing your palms. The backs of your hands. And each one of your fingers. Perhaps they feel warm… or cool. Heavy… or light. There is no right or wrong way to feel. Simply noticing. Bring your awareness back to your torso. Feeling your chest as it rises and falls with your breath.
Then shifting your attention to your upper back… noticing where it makes contact with the surface beneath you. Allowing it to feel supported. Let your awareness drift down to your belly. Softening this area with each out-breath. Releasing any holding. And your lower back… letting go of any tightness here.
Just allowing it to be held. Now, bring your attention to your hips and your pelvis. A solid, grounding center. Let this area feel heavy and relaxed. And allow that feeling of release to pour down into your legs. Through your thighs… past your knees… and into your calves.
Letting go of the need to stand… or to walk… or to run. Your legs have carried you through the day. Now they can rest. Finally, bring your awareness all the way down to your feet. Noticing your ankles. The soles of your feet. The tops of your feet. And each one of your ten toes.
Letting your feet feel soft and at ease. For a few moments now, just rest here. Aware of your whole body. Breathing. Resting. Being. Every part of you… held in this quiet awareness. The day is complete. Rest now.
