The human body replaces ninety-eight percent of its atoms every single year. You are, quite literally, not the same person you were twelve months ago. In our last episode, we talked about building a foundation of self-compassion. Today, we put that foundation to the test. Because today is about what you do when the ground itself starts to shift. When everything feels uncertain, and you need an anchor. Here are five things to hold onto. Say them. Feel them. They are true. First. "I don't have to like this change to navigate it well." Let that one sink in.

You do not have to pretend this is fine. You don't have to put on a brave face or find a silver lining when all you see is cloud. Your only job is to acknowledge what IS. This is hard. This is uncomfortable. This is not what you chose. Okay. Good. Honesty is the starting point. Think of it like walking through a storm. You don't have to enjoy the rain to find an umbrella. You don't have to praise the thunder to keep putting one foot in front of the other. Your job is not to love the storm. It's to walk through it.

Second. "I release my grip on what I cannot control, and I focus my energy on what I CAN." This isn't a metaphor. This is an action. I want you to find a piece of paper. Right now. Draw a line down the middle. On the left, write down everything you have zero power over. Another person's decision. The economy. What happened yesterday. Be ruthless. Get it all out. Now, on the right, write what you DO control. Your next breath. The choice to go for a walk. The words you use when you talk to yourself. What you will eat for lunch.

Who you call for support. The list on the right is small, but it is MIGHTY. Okay. Now look at the list on the left... and I want you to tear it up. Or burn it. Your energy does not live there anymore. It lives on the right. Third. "I have navigated uncertainty before. I will navigate it now." Your mind will tell you this time is different. That this is the one that will finally break you. Your mind is a liar. It's trying to protect you with fear, but it's forgetting the evidence. And the evidence is YOU. You are sitting here today with a one hundred percent success rate of surviving every single hard day you have ever had.

Think back to a time you were sure it was the end. A loss, a failure, a moment of pure terror. You made it. That past version of you, the one who was so scared and so lost, is the hero who got you here. They built the strength, the wisdom, the resilience you are using this very moment. You've done this before. You are doing it now. Fourth. "My stability is not in my circumstances. It is in me." We get this so backward. We think stability is a job, a house, a relationship, a number in a bank account. But all of those things can disappear overnight.

They are external. They are fragile. So where is real stability? It's your ability to learn. It's your core values. It's your breath. Right now. Breathe in. And out. That rhythm? That is stability. It's portable. It's yours. When everything outside of you is shaking, you find the unshakable thing INSIDE you. And you hold on. And finally, number five. "This ending is also a beginning. I am open to what is next." This is the hardest one, because it requires hope. But notice the wording. It doesn't say you're excited.

It doesn't say you're happy. It just says you are OPEN. You can grieve what you've lost and still be curious about what's to come. The two feelings can live in the same heart, at the same time. A forest after a fire is a scene of devastation, yes. But that very ash creates the most fertile soil imaginable for new life. You are standing on scorched earth. It hurts. But it is also the most fertile ground you have ever known. The person you were yesterday got you here. Thank them. They did their best. But they are not the person who will get you through tomorrow.

That person is being forged right now, in this fire, in this uncertainty. This isn't a breakdown. It's a re-shaping. You are not falling apart. You are becoming.
