The ground shifted yesterday. You can still feel the echo of it this morning, right behind your eyes. A low hum of uncertainty. The map you were using is gone. That’s okay. You don’t need it. Your only job today is not to see the whole path forward. It’s not to have all the answers by lunch. Your job is to take the next right step. Just one. Feel your feet on the floor. That’s real. That’s your anchor. From here, you can handle the next sixty seconds. And after that, the next.

Let this be the first thing you know for sure today: My only task is to take the next step. Not the whole staircase. Not the summit. Just the single plank of wood right in front of me. I have the strength for one step. I have the wisdom for one step. I will put my attention there, and only there. Now, let's talk about the change itself. You don't have to like it. You don't have to pretend it's a gift or an opportunity if it feels like a loss. Give yourself that permission.

Acknowledge the friction. The part of you that wants to dig in its heels and shout NO. That resistance is a stone in your hand. You can clench your fist around it until your knuckles are white… or you can let it go. Adaptability is a river. It doesn't fight the rocks, it flows around them. It finds the path of least resistance, not because it's weak, but because its purpose is to keep moving forward. Today, you are the river. So say this with me: I do not have to approve of this change.

I only have to move with it. I release the need to fight what is, and instead, I will meet what comes. I am not brittle. I am fluid. Finally, let's redefine your strength. You might feel shaken. Unsteady. Good. Your strength was never about being an immovable object. That’s a lie we tell ourselves. True strength… your strength… is in your ability to re-find your balance after you've been shaken. It’s the tremor in your legs that tells you you’re still standing. It’s the deep breath you take after the impact.

Every wobble is a testament to your resilience. It is the physical proof that you absorbed the hit and you are still here. Your balance is a practice, not a permanent state. And today is a new practice. You have been through fire before and walked out the other side, smelling of smoke but whole. This is no different. You just forgot for a minute. Remember now.
