wherever you are right now let's begin feel the space you occupy the air on your skin last time we were together we spoke of the body as an anchor let's return to that anchor now noticing its weight its presence it has carried you here and you are here that is more than enough and now bring your awareness to your breath you don't need to change it
simply notice its rhythm the gentle rise and fall of your chest your stomach each breath a quiet arrival each exhale a soft letting go following the air as it enters and as it leaves allowing it to be easy there is nothing to achieve here there is nothing to accomplish only this breath and the next
a quiet consistent rhythm that has been with you all day a faithful companion now allow that gentle awareness to travel through your body beginning with your feet feeling their connection to the ground holding you steady thanking them for all the steps they have taken for you today let a wave of softness move up through your legs into your hips feeling the support of the surface beneath you
your body is resting it has permission to be still notice your hands are they tense can you allow the fingers to uncurl let that softness travel up your arms and into your shoulders so much is carried here for now let it go let the shoulders drop away from the ears and finally bring that awareness to your face the space between your eyebrows your jaw
allowing everything to soften to be held and in this quiet in this stillness i want you to acknowledge something the strength it has taken for you to simply show up today maybe the day was heavy maybe uncertainty was a constant companion unhurried let the final thought land gently and yet you moved through it you took the next step you breathed the next breath
this is not a small thing this quiet consistent effort it is a form of deep resilience it doesn't need to be loud or dramatic to be profound it's the strength of a river flowing steadily the strength of a tree weathering a storm by bending rest in the knowing of that quiet strength within you it has always been there there is no rush to leave this place but when you feel ready you can slowly bring your awareness back to the room around you
maybe by wiggling your fingers and toes or by taking a slightly deeper breath carrying the stillness with you as you return and as you move back into your day or into your night hold this one thought gently the way you keep going quietly and without applause is a testament to your grace honor that
