Wherever you are, Admin, let this be a quiet space. Just for a few moments. There's no need to change anything. Simply notice the weight of your body in the chair... the floor beneath your feet. Notice the air as it enters... and as it leaves. This breath, right here, is the only one that matters. In Japan, there is an art form called Kintsugi. When a piece of pottery breaks, it isn't thrown away. The pieces are carefully reassembled, and the cracks are filled with lacquer mixed with powdered GOLD.

The belief is that the object is more beautiful for having been broken. Last time we were together, we spoke of finding warmth and perspective... like a friend who knows just what you need to hear. Kintsugi feels like that kind of friend. It doesn't hide the damage. It illuminates it. It says the breaking point is not the end of the story. It's where the most beautiful part begins. We spend so much of our lives trying to appear seamless. Unbroken. We sand down our rough edges, hide the hairline fractures, and present a version of ourselves that we think the world wants to see...

a version that is flawless and strong and always has the right answer. And it is EXHAUSTING. Feel that for a moment in your body. The tension that comes from holding it all together. The slight clench in the jaw... the tightness in the shoulders... the quiet, constant vigilance against making a mistake. The energy it takes to maintain the appearance of perfection is energy that cannot be used for joy... for creativity... for connection. Here is what that means if you're Admin. It means that the pressure you feel to have every project run perfectly, to have every conversation go smoothly, to be the person who never drops a ball...

that pressure is a heavy weight to carry alone. It creates distance. People admire perfection from afar. They don't get close to it. They can't. There's no room to enter. But what if the cracks are not failures? What if they are invitations? The moment you admit you don't have the answer... the time you had to ask for help... the day you were just simply tired and let it show. We see these as lapses. But for others, they are openings. They are the moment they see themselves in you. Perfection asks for admiration.

Imperfection asks for connection. It says, I am human, like you. My story has breaks in it, too. This is the gentle power we're talking about. It’s the warmth that flows into a room when someone laughs at their own mistake. It’s the peace that settles in your own heart when you forgive yourself for not being everything to everyone, all the time. It is the relief of putting down the heavy burden of being unbreakable, and just being... real. So as you move back into the rhythm of your day, Admin...

just notice. Notice the worn corner of your favorite book. The faded paint on a wall. The small, beautiful imperfections that make up a life fully lived. You are not a project to be perfected. You are a life to be LIVED.
