"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.

In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Let's sit with that for a moment. The first half you've heard before: Trust in the Lord with all your heart. But notice what comes next — lean not on your own understanding. Not "don't think." Not "don't plan." The word is lean. It's about where you put your weight. Where you rest the full burden of figuring out what comes next. Here's what that means for today.

You've got decisions ahead — some small, some significant. Meetings. Conversations. A choice you've been turning over in your mind all week. And the instinct... the instinct is to solve it. To map every angle, anticipate every outcome, carry the weight of getting it right. But that's leaning on your own understanding. And this passage says — gently, firmly — don't do that. Instead: In all your ways acknowledge him. All your ways.

Not just the big decisions. Not just the spiritual moments. The email you're about to send. The tone you take in that hard conversation. The choice between rest and one more task tonight.
