Oh, is this the plot we're meant to sell? Another Friday, ring the bell! The story's twisted, hard to read A patriotic, panicked stampede!
We sing the song, we play the part With breaking news and a broken heart In this political grand bazaar! By Wednesday, facts have rearranged, the villain's now the saint The polling numbers did a dance, there's no time to complain A hearing's held, a 'gotcha' lands, the chorus gasps on cue A freshman star forgets their line, says something bold and new The critics on the cable news all sharpen up their pens We spin and smile and wonder when this tragicomedy ends. Oh, is this the plot we're meant to sell?
Another Friday, ring the bell! The story's twisted, hard to read A patriotic, panicked stampede!
