Lot one on the block this morning: four Indian tech majors just stopped settling for back-end maintenance and started charging top-dollar for artificial intelligence strategy. In episode one hundred seventy-nine, we watched money flood into raw infrastructure and Jio's record public offering; today, the room is demanding to know who can actually ring the register on execution. Quick paddles on the rest of the board. Jio's thirty thousand two hundred thirteen crore rupee initial public offering shuts its book today, October 23, with institutional buyers bidding the institutional tranche up to thirteen point two nine times ahead of its October 28 listing. Over in hardware, Samsung is reviewing plans to shift export capacity from Vietnam to its Noida hub, chasing New Delhi's new sixty-two thousand three hundred crore rupee handset production incentive scheme.
And on the electric mobility floor, Motilal Oswal and Calliope Capital took down two point three nine crore shares on day one of Ola Electric's one thousand crore rupee rights issue. Hammer's down. Now let me tell you what that actually was. Look at Tata Consultancy Services, HCLTech, Wipro, and Tech Mahindra. For eighteen months, enterprise clients rushed out pilot projects and bought expensive graphics processing chips without asking the hard questions. Now those corporate bills are landing, and the buyer remorse is real. So Indian tech services firms are stepping into the gap. TCS chief operating officer Aarthi Subramanian confirmed they are now advising clients directly on token economics, model architecture selection, and AI cloud financial operations. They are telling chief information officers which models to pick, how to benchmark reasoning costs, and where human staff can be trimmed or redeployed.
Wipro is already booking consulting-led wins off the same playbook. I can chant it or I can explain it. Today you get both. Do I hear ten million, ten million on back-end migration, now fifteen, fifteen on architecture advisory, twenty on cost benchmarking, sold to the Indian services desk! Here is the shift. The easy money in basic setup is done. Indian IT is no longer waiting for foreign enterprise firms to design the workflow and hand them the cleanup work. They are positioning themselves right at the boardroom table where model selection happens. When companies spend millions on tokens every single month, whoever controls the architecture controls the entire vendor budget. Just a reminder: this is general market reporting and our own opinion, not investment advice. The story across Indian tech today is no longer about who can raise a flashy round.
It is about who can operate the machinery, trim the margin fat, and hold the room when the final bill comes due.
