Wipro just announced it’s training ten thousand AI specialists on Google's Gemini Enterprise. Not experimenting, not piloting—ten thousand people. In our last episode, we talked about the big power moves shaking up the market, and this is a perfect example of how the game is changing from just having a model to actually deploying it at scale. Okay, so here's the quick sweep of what else is moving. First, you can now walk into a room in Mumbai and test drive Google's most powerful AI. A company called Shivaami just opened India’s first-ever Gemini Enterprise Experience Centre. It's a hands-on lab for businesses to see what this agentic AI can actually do for them. Think of it like a test drive for the future of your company's operations.

Then there's this new report from Deloitte that just landed. It says forty percent of Indian enterprises are reporting significant or full-scale AI usage. The global average? Twenty-eight percent. So we're not just keeping pace, we're pulling ahead in putting this tech to work. To support all this, money is pouring into infrastructure. Visakhapatnam, or Vizag, is suddenly on the map as a strategic AI hub. There's over three point two five gigawatts of data center capacity in the pipeline there, with Google and Reliance making big bets on the city. And finally, the government is putting its money where its mouth is. The India Semiconductor Mission 2.0 just got its budget confirmed: one point three lakh crore rupees to boost domestic chip manufacturing.

This is all part of a larger play for technological self-reliance. So let's go deeper on that first point, because the Wipro-Google deal and that new Gemini center in Mumbai aren't just separate news items. They are two sides of the same coin. This is the moment AI stops being a cool demo and starts becoming a core part of how Indian businesses actually run. For years, the conversation was about models. Who has the best Large Language Model? But that's changing. What Wipro is doing with its new LIFT framework is building the machinery to plug Gemini's brain directly into a company's nervous system. They're talking about "agentic AI"—autonomous agents that don't just answer questions, but execute multi-step business workflows securely.

This isn't about asking an AI to write an email. This is about asking an AI to manage your entire supply chain adjustment for a new product launch. And they’re training fifteen hundred "Forward Deployed Engineers" specifically for this. These are the people who will actually go into a company and embed these AI agents into the core processes. And that's why the Shivaami Experience Centre in Mumbai is so important. The CEO, Punit Thakkar, said it perfectly: "Technology adoption is no longer about choosing a cloud platform—it's about transforming how businesses innovate, operate, and compete in an AI-first world." You can't do that from a PowerPoint slide. You need to see it, touch it, and figure out how it breaks and what it can build.

This center is the showroom for that transformation. But here's the catch. Here's the part that should make you pause. While everyone is racing to deploy these incredibly powerful AI systems, we're about to hit a wall. And it's not the one you think. It’s not a lack of AI models. It’s not even a lack of compute power, though that's always a concern. The single biggest bottleneck for scaling AI in India right now is the NETWORK. The actual pipes connecting all these data centers, clouds, and edge devices. Sajan Paul from ETCIO put it bluntly: "The defining constraint is beginning to change... The network... cannot keep pace." Think about it. Legacy networks were built for predictable traffic. Your email, your web browsing.

AI workloads are the opposite. They are dynamic, distributed, and incredibly demanding. They send massive amounts of data flying between servers for training and inference. Our current infrastructure just wasn't designed for that kind of storm. So even if you have the best AI and the most powerful servers, if the network connecting them is slow and unreliable, your whole AI strategy grinds to a halt. This is why you're seeing the massive push into places like Vizag, which is being called "AI Patnam." It’s a race to build the physical foundation—the data centers, the fiber, the clean energy—before the ambition outruns the reality. It's an attempt to build technological self-reliance from the ground up. And layered on top of all this is the new Digital Personal Data Protection Act.

The rules are now notified, which means privacy just went from a legal checkbox to a strategic emergency. Embedding privacy into these complex AI systems isn't simple. It's a massive governance and technology challenge. So the real story today isn't just that India is adopting AI. It's that the country is hitting the accelerator just as the road ahead is revealing some serious obstacles. The race is no longer about who can build the smartest AI. It's about who can build the smartest—and strongest—infrastructure to run it on.
