No two clouds are ever exactly the same. It’s a funny thing to think about, isn’t it? Just like the moonbeams that guided Milo and Zephyr through the Whispering Woods, every single cloud has its own special journey across the sky. And tonight’s story is about one of them. A little cloud named Nimbus. Nimbus was a soft, sleepy puff of white, drifting high above the world. The wind was a gentle cradle, rocking him slowly, this way and that. Below, the world was a patchwork quilt of greens and browns.

He could see tiny houses with wisps of smoke curling from their chimneys, and a river that shimmered like a silver ribbon. Nimbus sighed a happy, quiet sigh. He loved being a cloud. He floated for a while, just watching. He saw other clouds in the distance. Some were enormous, like great white mountains. Others were long and thin, like brushstrokes of paint. Nimbus felt very small. He tried to puff himself up, to look bigger, more important. He tried to make himself into a shape.

First, a rabbit. He pushed out two long ears… but the breeze tickled one, and it drifted away. Then he tried to be a grand sailing ship, with tall masts. But a little gust of wind came and turned his sails into a funny-looking hat. He wasn't a mountain. He wasn't a rabbit. He wasn't a ship. He was just… Nimbus. And for a moment, that felt a little bit lonely. And then… something changed. A warm, golden light began to touch his edges. The sun was getting ready for bed, and it was sending out its goodnight kisses.

The light wasn't asking him to be anything. It just… warmed him. Nimbus stopped trying to be a shape. He stopped trying to be big. He just… floated. He let the warm light soak into his fluffiness. He let the gentle breeze guide him. He felt light. Sooo light. And as he drifted over a little town, he looked down. In a small backyard, a child was looking up at the sky. The child pointed right at him. A smile spread across the child’s face. Nimbus hadn’t made a grand shape.

He was just himself, a soft, fluffy cloud painted gold and pink by the setting sun. But that was enough. It was more than enough. He realized his job wasn't to be a big mountain or a funny rabbit. His job was just to be there, a soft, peaceful spot in the sky for someone to look at and feel… calm. He drifted on, no longer feeling small, but feeling part of the whole, beautiful, sleepy sky. And as the last bits of sun tucked themselves away for the night, Nimbus glowed.

A quiet, happy, peaceful little cloud, ready to dream.
