Jellypod or Lissin: a podcast for an audience or for yourself

Jellypod is a web studio that publishes AI podcasts and videos to an audience, on a schedule if you like. Lissin makes shows for one listener. Compare the two.

The short answer

Jellypod is a web studio for publishing AI podcasts and videos to an audience: one to four hosts, cloned voices, a script editor, and automations that make an episode on a schedule or from a newsletter and post it to your RSS feed. Choose Lissin for a show made for you alone, set up on your iPhone.

How to choose

  1. Decide whether the show has an audience

Jellypod gives every podcast a website and an RSS feed that sends episodes to Spotify, Apple Podcasts and YouTube, which is what you want for a show other people subscribe to. A Lissin show is made for the person who asked for it. You can share an episode as a web link, but there is no RSS feed for podcast directories.

  2. Both run on a schedule, so check what feeds each episode

A Jellypod automation runs on the days and time you pick, or each time an email reaches a private address, up to 10 runs a day, and it can publish to your feed or save a draft. Its help page does not say whether scheduled runs research the web. Lissin researches the open web before each episode, checks the websites, newsletters, RSS feeds, subreddits and YouTube channels you add, and remembers what earlier episodes covered.

  3. Weigh the production controls

Jellypod lists one to four AI hosts, more than 3,300 voices in 121 languages, voice cloning, line-by-line script editing and video output. Lissin has one narrator or two speakers in 25 languages, and you change an episode by describing what should be different. If you are producing a show for listeners, Jellypod gives you more to adjust.

  4. Work out the minutes each plan buys

Jellypod's Starter plan is $25 a month billed yearly for 5,000 credits, and audio costs 30 credits a minute, so about 166 minutes of narration a month. Its free plan lets you preview but not download or publish. Lissin Plus is $9.99 a month for 7.5 hours a week, and the free plan gives 50 minutes a week.

Questions

What happened to the Jellypod iPhone app?
Jellypod's About page says it started in December 2023 as an iPhone app that turned the news you follow into a personal podcast, and that Jellypod Studio for creators followed in January 2025. Its current pages describe the web Studio and API, not the app, so check the App Store in your region before you count on it.
Can Lissin turn my newsletters into a podcast?
Yes. Add the newsletters you read as sources, and a recurring show covers what is new in them alongside its own research. You can also paste a single issue into a request for a one-off episode.
Can I clone my voice in Lissin?
No. Lissin voices shows in the voice, language and accent you choose from its own range. Jellypod offers voice cloning if you need your own voice.

What this does not do

Lissin is not built to publish a podcast to an audience. It has no RSS feed for Spotify, Apple Podcasts or YouTube, an episode has at most two speakers, and there is no voice cloning. Creating a show needs an iPhone on iOS 26 or later, and daily delivery is on paid plans. Check names and figures against the original before you rely on an episode.
