Turn newsletter issues into an audio show
Save the issues you have not read as HTML or PDF and upload them to Lissin for one narrated round-up. The honest limits of doing this with a subscription.
The short answer
Paste the links to the issues you have not read, or save them out of your inbox as HTML or PDF, then ask for a round-up rather than a reading. Six unread issues become one twelve-minute episode about what actually happened across them.
How to do it
Save the issues you have, not the ones you subscribe to
Most newsletters publish every issue on the web, and those links can be pasted straight in. For the ones that live only in your inbox, or sit behind a subscriber login, save the browser view with Save Page As → Web Page, Complete, or print to PDF from your mail client. Lissin does not connect to your inbox either way.
Upload the backlog as a batch
This is the case for it. A week of issues, uploaded together, with ‘what were the recurring threads and what is genuinely new’ produces something none of the individual issues contain, and clears the backlog guilt in one go.
Use a recurring show for what comes next
For the future rather than the backlog, describe the subject and let Lissin research it on a schedule. It will not be the newsletter — a specific writer’s judgement is the thing you subscribed to and it does not transfer — but it covers the ground without an inbox.

Questions
- Can Lissin subscribe to a newsletter for me?
- No. There is no email integration and no feed subscription, so nothing arrives on its own. You paste or upload the issues you want, or you set up a recurring show on the subject and Lissin researches it independently.
- Is it legal to do this with a paid newsletter?
- You are making a private audio version of something you paid for and can already read, for yourself. That is a different act from republishing it, which Lissin shows do not do — a generated show is not distributable as the newsletter’s content, and you should not treat it as though it were.
- Why not just use the newsletter’s own audio version?
- If it has one, use it — a writer reading their own piece beats any generated narration. This is for the ones that do not, and for the round-up across several that no single publisher can make.
What this does not do
Email HTML is messy, and saved issues often bring footers, unsubscribe blocks and tracking pixels along with them. The bigger limit is editorial: a round-up flattens the individual voice that made the newsletter worth subscribing to.
