Turn a Notion page into an audio show
Export a Notion page or database as PDF, upload it to Lissin, and get a narrated show with a transcript. The exact export settings that keep tables and toggles readable.
The short answer
Export the Notion page with Export → PDF, include subpages if you want the whole tree, then upload the file to Lissin and describe the show you want from it. Lissin reads the text layer, writes a script, and narrates it. Toggles export collapsed, so open them first.
How to do it
Export with subpages, not just the page
In Notion, open the ••• menu on the page, choose Export, and pick PDF. Set ‘Include subpages’ to on if the page is really a hub — otherwise you export a page of links and Lissin narrates the links. Set page size to A4 or Letter; the ‘Everything’ scale crams tables into unreadable columns and the text layer comes out interleaved.
Open every toggle first
Notion exports collapsed toggles as their heading only. If the substance of the page lives inside toggles — most meeting notes and spec docs do — expand them before exporting, or the audio will be an outline of headings with nothing under them.
Say what kind of show it should be
Upload the PDF and describe what you want: a ten-minute walkthrough for someone who has never seen the doc, a two-voice discussion that argues the tradeoffs, or a straight read. The description matters more than the file — the same export produces very different shows depending on what you ask for.

Questions
- Can Lissin read a Notion page from its URL?
- No. Notion pages are behind your workspace login, so there is nothing for Lissin to fetch. The export is the way in. A published, publicly shared Notion page can be saved as HTML from the browser and uploaded that way instead.
- What happens to Notion databases and tables?
- They arrive as text. A table of five columns and forty rows narrates badly no matter who writes the script, so it is worth asking for the pattern rather than the contents — ‘summarise what changed across these rows’ produces something listenable; ‘read this table’ does not.
- Does it keep updating when the Notion page changes?
- Not from the file. An uploaded document is a snapshot. For something that should stay current, set up a recurring show described by topic instead, and Lissin researches it fresh on each run.
What this does not do
Images, embeds and linked databases do not come through the text layer, and a page whose meaning is in a diagram will lose it. Notion’s PDF export also drops inline comments, which is usually what you want and occasionally is not.
