Follow a story over time with audio updates that start where the last one stopped

Name one story, add the sources that cover it, and Lissin sends an audio update daily, weekly or every two weeks that starts from what changed.

The short answer

Lissin can follow one story or subject for you and send an audio update on a schedule. Name the story, add sources worth watching and choose daily, weekly or every two weeks. Each episode checks what changed since the last one and starts there, so you hear the new developments without the background retold every time.

How to set it up

  1. Name one story and say what counts as news

"The 2026 Formula One season", "the copyright cases against AI companies" or "my city's transit expansion" each give the show a clear edge. Then say what counts: "rulings and filings, not commentary" or "race results and contract news, skip the gossip". The show uses those instructions every time it researches.

  2. Add the sources that cover it first

Point it at the websites, RSS feeds, newsletters, subreddits, YouTube channels, podcasts or X accounts where the story actually breaks. Lissin checks them alongside fresh web research for each episode and lists everything it used.

  3. Match the rhythm to the story

Daily suits a trial in session or a vote count. Weekly suits a sports season or a slow product rollout. Every two weeks suits a research field. You can change the schedule later without starting the show over.

  4. Re-aim it when the story moves

Stories change shape: a trial reaches sentencing, a launch becomes a recall. On Plus or Pro, remix the show in plain words, such as "now focus on the appeal", and future episodes follow the new direction while past ones stay as they were.

Questions

Will every episode repeat the background?
No. A recurring show keeps track of what it has covered, so the next episode opens on what changed. If you want a one-line reminder of the story at the top, ask for one when you set up the show.
How quickly does it pick up new developments?
Each episode is researched shortly before the time you set, so it reflects what was published by then. It is not an alert service: anything that happens after that arrives in the next episode.
Can I follow several stories?
Yes. Give each story its own show on Plus or Pro, or keep one show and list the stories in order of importance. The free plan includes one starter show.
Can I catch up if I missed a few episodes?
Earlier episodes stay in the show, so you can play them in order. Each one lists its sources if you want to read further.

What this does not do

Lissin is not a breaking-news alert service; updates arrive on the schedule you set. It cannot read paywalled or login-only pages, and a local or niche story is only covered as well as it is reported online. AI-written summaries can get a name, number or date wrong, so check the listed sources before you act on one. Creating a show needs an iPhone on iOS 26 or later.

Make your own show, or hear a sample

Make a show from your topic or documents in the Lissin iPhone app (iOS 26 or later). Or listen to public shows in the web player without installing the app.
