A personalized podcast app that makes shows about what you're into
Name a subject you love, from Roman history to your football club, and Lissin makes a podcast about it that can return daily or weekly. Free to try on iPhone.
The short answer
Lissin is an iPhone app that makes podcasts for one listener. Describe what you're into, such as Roman history, your football club or how sleep works, and it researches the subject, writes the script and voices it. Ask for one episode, or a show that comes back daily or weekly and picks up where the last episode stopped.
How to set it up
Describe the show, not the genre
"History" is a shelf in a podcast app. "Why empires fell, one empire per episode, told as a story, fifteen minutes" is a show. Say what you already know, which angle you want and what to skip, and Lissin writes the show around that.
Choose the format and the voice
The same subject can be a two-host podcast, a single narrator's deep dive, a story or a song. Pick the voice, accent, pacing and energy, and one of 25 languages. A nightly story and a morning explainer can sit side by side as separate shows.
Make it come back
Keep it as one episode, or schedule the show daily, on weekdays, weekly or every two weeks at the time you choose. A recurring show remembers what it has already covered, so episode nine moves the subject forward instead of repeating episode two.
Steer it as you listen
If an episode runs too basic or too long, type what you want changed, such as "assume I know the battles, focus on the economics". On Plus or Pro, remixing a show changes how future episodes are written. Past episodes stay as they were.

Questions
- How is this different from a podcast app?
- A podcast app plays shows someone published for a wide audience. Lissin makes the show itself, for you, on the subject and angle you describe. It does not play other publishers' podcasts, so most people keep both.
- How is it different from NotebookLM?
- NotebookLM's Audio Overview summarises the sources in one notebook, and it is the better tool for studying documents with citations back into them. Lissin starts from a subject, does its own research and keeps a show going on a schedule.
- Can I have more than one show?
- The free plan includes one starter show. Plus and Pro add more personal shows, so a history series, a weekly club update and a bedtime story can run side by side.
- Can I listen in Apple Podcasts or Spotify?
- No. Episodes play in the Lissin app, with downloads for offline listening on Plus and Pro. There is no RSS feed, but you can share any episode as a web link that plays in a browser.
What this does not do
Creating a show needs the Lissin iPhone app on iOS 26 or later. It does not play podcasts from other publishers. It cannot read paywalled or login-only pages, and a very niche subject is only covered as well as it is written about online. Like any AI writer it can get a fact wrong, so each episode lists the sources it used.
Make your own show, or hear a sample
Make a show from your topic or documents in the Lissin iPhone app (iOS 26 or later). Or listen to public shows in the web player without installing the app.
