A single slow exhale can signal to your entire nervous system that it is safe to rest. In our last time together, we practiced letting go of the day. Tonight, we invite that same gentle release directly into the body, one small space at a time. So let’s begin.

Find your way into a comfortable position. Allowing your body to be supported completely. There is nothing you need to do. Nowhere else to be. Simply arrive right here… in this moment. Begin by noticing your breath. Not changing it in any way. Just feeling the gentle, natural rhythm of air entering… and leaving your body.

Each breath is an anchor to this present moment. Now, bring a soft awareness to the very top of your head. Just noticing any sensations there. Allowing the scalp to feel soft. Moving your awareness down to your forehead. Inviting any lines of expression to smooth away.

Releasing the day. Soften the tiny muscles around your eyes. Let your eyes feel heavy in their sockets. Notice your jaw. Allowing a little space to form between your teeth. Letting the tongue rest softly in your mouth. Awareness now flows into your neck and your throat.

Releasing any holding here. Creating a sense of openness. And now… the shoulders. Feel their weight. With your next exhale, invite them to drop a little further… letting go of whatever they have been carrying. This feeling of softness flows down into your arms.

Through the elbows… the forearms… your wrists… and your hands. Perhaps you can feel a warmth… or a tingling in your palms… or the tips of your fingers. Simply noticing. Bring your attention now to your chest… and your upper back. Feeling the gentle expansion with every inhale.

And the gentle release with every exhale. Your heart is beating its steady, quiet rhythm. Let your awareness travel down into your belly. Allowing it to be soft. Rising and falling with the breath. Feeling your entire torso becoming heavy… warm… and deeply settled.

Notice the points of contact where your back is supported. Allowing your body to sink even more deeply into that support. Letting yourself be held. Now, let your awareness drift down into your hips… your pelvis. A place of stability and grounding.

Invite a feeling of release here. This sense of ease flows down into your legs. Your thighs becoming heavy. The backs of your knees soft. Down through your calves… your shins… into your ankles. And finally… your feet. Noticing the heels… the arches… the balls of your feet.

All the way to the very tips of your toes. And now… for a few moments… just rest. Awareness resting in the feeling of the whole body. Breathing. Heavy. Calm. And still. There is nothing left to do. Nothing to figure out. Simply rest.
