Find a comfortable place to lie down. Let your arms and legs settle wherever they feel most at ease. Allow your eyes to gently close. The day is now complete. There is nothing left for you to do. Begin by noticing your breath. Simply feel the air as it enters your body… and as it leaves. There is no need to change it. Just observe its natural rhythm. Feel the weight of your body. Notice the points of contact between you and the surface beneath you.

The back of your head… your shoulders… your hips… your heels. Let that surface hold you completely. Now, bring your awareness all the way down to your feet. To the tips of your toes. Can you feel them inside your socks, or against the air? Notice any sensations here… warmth, coolness, tingling. With your next exhale, imagine all the tension from your feet and toes simply melting away.

Let this feeling of softness travel up into your ankles… your shins… and your calves. These muscles worked hard for you today. Invite them to release. To become heavy and still. Now, bring your awareness to your knees and up into your thighs. These large, strong muscles can hold so much tension. On your next breath out, give them permission to let go. Feeling them grow soft, warm, and heavy.

Your awareness now moves into your hips, your pelvis, and your lower back. This is the center of your body. A place that often carries the weight of the day. Breathe into this space. And as you breathe out, feel it soften. Releasing any tightness or holding. Let that gentle release spread upward into your stomach and your chest. Feel your belly rise and fall with each quiet breath. Notice your heartbeat.

Slow and steady. Bring your attention to your shoulders. Let them drop away from your ears. Let them feel heavy, sinking down into the surface beneath you. This wave of relaxation now flows down your arms… through your elbows… into your wrists, your hands, and all the way to the tips of your fingers. Your hands can now be completely still. Your awareness moves to your neck and your throat.

Invite these small, supportive muscles to soften. Let go of your jaw. Allow a little space to form between your teeth. Feel your cheeks soften. The small muscles around your eyes release. Your forehead becomes smooth. Finally, bring your awareness to the very top of your head. A feeling of quiet and ease. Now, feel your entire body at once. From the tips of your toes to the crown of your head.

Whole. Still. And deeply relaxed. There is nothing left to do. Nowhere else to be. Simply rest.
