Feel the surface beneath you. The solid, steady presence holding you completely. In our last time together, we practiced the art of letting go. Tonight, we don't even have to do that much. We simply allow gravity to do the work, inviting ourselves to be held. Let's begin by noticing the weight of your head.
Feel it resting, fully supported, its weight a gentle anchor. Let the tiny muscles around your eyes and in your jaw go soft. Releasing any expression you’ve been holding from the day. Follow that feeling of weight down into your shoulders. Allowing them to feel heavy… sinking back and away from your ears.
Notice the full length of your back, making contact with the surface below. Each vertebra is invited to rest. The whole weight of your torso, finally settling. Feel the weight in your hips… your pelvis. A sense of deep, central grounding, right at your core. And allow that heaviness to flow down through your legs… a warm, heavy current.
Through your thighs… your knees… your calves… all the way to the tips of your toes. Every part of you, simply resting. Now, bring your awareness to your breath, without changing a thing. Just notice the natural rhythm of it. And with each exhale… imagine releasing just a little more of your weight into the surface beneath you.
A quiet surrender. The breath flows out… and you sink a little deeper. The support beneath you is absolute. It can hold all of you, without any effort at all. You don't need to carry the day any longer. Any lingering thoughts… any worries… you can let them be heavy, too.
Imagine them sinking down, through you, and dissolving into the stillness below. Releasing all effort. Releasing the need to control. There is only this moment. And in this moment, you are held. Safe. Supported. There is no need to hold yourself together. You are already being held.
