Wherever you are right now, Admin, just allow yourself to arrive. Feel the weight of your body in the chair, or on the floor. Notice the air touching your skin. Let's take one slow breath together. In... and out. An oak tree can drop over fifty thousand acorns in a single season, and it doesn't hold back a single one. It just… releases them. It reminds me of what we were talking about last time, Admin, with those twenty-three second moments of comfort. It's hard to find space to savor those small joys when our hands, and our hearts, are already full.
We carry so much, don't we? And most of it is invisible. It doesn't have a physical weight, but we feel it all the same. Just for a moment, I wonder if you could notice where you feel it in your body. Is it a tightness in your shoulders? A clench in your jaw? Maybe it’s a quiet hum of anxiety deep in your chest. You don’t have to name it or fix it. Just notice that it’s there. A silent passenger you've been carrying for a mile, or maybe for a thousand. These things we hold onto… they were often useful once.
A certain belief about ourselves might have protected us. A specific worry might have kept us safe. An old expectation might have given us a direction to walk in. But like clothes we've outgrown, they eventually stop fitting. They become constricting. They start to feel less like protection, and more like a cage. The narrative that once served you becomes a script you feel stuck in. Here's what that means if you're Admin. It means you get to decide what you carry forward from this day into the next.
That lingering comment from a meeting, the one that keeps replaying… you can set it down. That story you tell yourself about what you 'should' have done differently last year… you can close that book. It's not about pretending these things didn't happen. It’s about acknowledging their weight, and then making a conscious, gentle choice to no longer let them weigh YOU down. Letting go is not a grand, dramatic event. It's a quiet, internal shift. It's the unclenching of a fist you didn't even realize you were making.
It’s the simple, powerful act of exhaling. Of breathing out the stale air to make room for the new. The strength isn't in holding on tighter. The REAL strength is in the softness it takes to release. Think of your mind like a room. For a long time, maybe you’ve been holding onto old furniture, things that don't serve you anymore. Memories that just collect dust. Worries that take up too much space. Letting go is simply opening a window. Letting a fresh breeze come through.
It’s not about throwing everything out in a panic. It’s about gently deciding what truly belongs in the space of your heart, right now. What deserves to stay. So as you move through the rest of your day, or into your evening, I want to leave you with this one thought. This gentle permission. You don't have to earn the right to feel light. You just have to create the space for it. The space you create by letting go is not empty. It’s an invitation for peace to come and sit with you for a while.
