Glimmer's Gentle Adventure: The Dewdrop Who Held the Moon

Every single dewdrop holds a tiny, upside-down world inside it. Just like the little feather we followed on its journey through the world of dreams, this dewdrop had its own quiet adventure waiting for the sun. Our story begins with one such drop, clinging to the very tip of a long, green blade of grass. She didn’t have a name, not really, but she felt like a Glimmer. All night, she had held the moon inside her, a perfect silver coin. She held the stars, too, a whole handful of tiny, scattered diamonds.

She was perfectly round, perfectly still, and perfectly happy. The world around her was deep blue and quiet, full of the soft rustle of sleeping things. But then… something began to change. A pale, soft light started to bloom at the edge of the world. It was the color of a peach, and it made the whole sky sigh. Glimmer felt a little wobble. The blade of grass she called home was shifting, ever so slightly. She wasn't just sitting anymore. Oh, no. She was beginning to slide.

Very, very slowly. Down, down, down the green slide of the grass blade. The upside-down world inside her swirled and tumbled. The stars and moon were gone, replaced with a dizzying rush of green. Halfway down her slide, she passed a sleepy ladybug, just starting to stretch its six tiny legs. The ladybug wiggled its antennae, which was its way of saying, "Good morning!" Glimmer wobbled back, which was her way of saying, "Good morning to you, too!" But she couldn't stop.

The pull was gentle, but it was THERE. The blade of grass bent lower... and lower... until its tip was just about to kiss the leaf of a clover below. What would happen when she reached the end? And then… it happened. With the softest little plink you can possibly imagine, Glimmer rolled right off the tip of the grass blade and onto the wide, flat clover leaf. And waiting for her there was another dewdrop, just like her. For a heartbeat, they sat side-by-side, two shimmering jewels on the green velvet of the clover.

And then… they touched. And in that touch, they weren't two anymore. They became ONE. A single, larger, more brilliant drop of water, holding twice as much morning light inside. The new, bigger drop sat peacefully on its clover throne as the sun finally peeked over the horizon. A warm, golden ray of light—the very first one of the day—beamed right down and wrapped the drop in a gentle hug. And it felt… warm. And then… it felt light. Lighter than air. The drop began to shimmer and dance, and then, so slowly… it lifted.

It wasn't a drop of water anymore. It was a tiny, swirling wisp of morning mist, rising up, up, up from the clover leaf. It floated past the tip of the grass blade it once called home, and joined the soft, hazy air, becoming part of the beautiful new day.
